Terms & Conditions

1. SELF-CATERING

All published prices are based upon self-catering accommodation.

2. PAYMENT

For bookings made four weeks or more in advance, a deposit of £100 is required. A provisional booking will be held for 3 days only when the dates will be made available again should payment not be made. The balance and security damage deposit is payable 4 weeks prior to arrival date. For last minute bookings (this shall mean bookings made less than four weeks from arrival date) full payment will be required to reserve the accommodation.

Payment can be made by Credit/Debit card or Paypal (please note that card transactions will be processed through PayPal and will be subject to a 2% admin fee ). Alternatively payments can be made by BACS or cheque (payable to Mrs C Trim)

3. CANCELLATION AND COVID-19

In the event of you needing to cancel your holiday, we regret that your deposit cannot be refunded. If the full amount has been paid we will make every attempt to resell your dates and if we do your balance may be refunded.  We therefore strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance.

If a National COVID-19 lockdown is repeated then bookings can be transferred to a later date in 2021/22 (prices may vary) or a full refund will be offered.  If the lockdown is isolated to Dorset we will contact you immediately and the same would apply. If guests are restricted in their own county from travelling and have to cancel we will make every attempt to resell your booking and if successful a full or partial refund will be made based on the dates resold.

4. SMOKING

There is strictly NO SMOKING in the chalets. (If we suspect anyone to be smoking in the chalets then you and your party will be asked politely to leave.)

5. HIRER’S RESPONSIBILITY

The hirer is responsible for the chalet and is expected to take all reasonable care of it. All damages and breakages are the responsibility of the hirer and the cost of making good such shall be taken from the damage deposit. The chalet and contents must be left as found. We reserve the right to charge £25 housekeeping fee if the chalet is not left as you found it.

6. OWNER’S LIABILITY

Please be aware that a farm can be a dangerous place with machinery being used daily. The owner will not be liable for personal injury (other than resulting from negligence) to the hirer or any member of his/her party, or for the loss or damage to the property of the hirer (including vehicles and contents).

We cannot accept responsibility for breakdown in public or local supplies, including water or electricity, nor any claims against inconvenience caused by building works that may be deemed as necessary by us. In the case of any breakdown the hirer is asked to notify us immediately. We will use our best endeavours in conjunction with the service company concerned to correct the fault as soon as possible.

7. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Guests are requested to arrive after 4pm and to vacate their chalet by 10am on day of departure.

8. PETS

As a working farm, we regret we cannot accommodate pets.

9. ADDITIONAL GUESTS

No person in excess of the maximum number allowed (6 people) may occupy the property.  Breach of this term will terminate the contract without recompense to the hirer.

10. GROUP BOOKINGS OF MORE THAN ONE CHALET

For two chalet group bookings only Duncliffe and Melbury or Hardy and Wessex can be paired.

11. GROCERY DELIVERIES

Most supermarkets deliver to Stour Cross Farm.  Please make sure you arrange a suitable time for delivery well after your estimated time of arrival. You must also inform the driver that there is no entry to the chalet with their vehicles.  Instead, the driver must park by the entrance and trolley the groceries to the chalet.

12. LAST BUT NOT LEAST

Please note, for guests booking into Melbury or Duncliffe, please follow the Hot Tub Terms and Conditions which can be found here.

Please also be aware of the following:

  • We have a small unfenced pond by the farmhouse, approximately 100 metres from the chalets; and
  • The drive to the farm is in constant use with tractors so please don’t allow your children to roam on their own.
